Some of the details here will be used for Kahoot game 😉

AK –
We’ve always been drawn to nature — whether it’s climbing mountains or diving into the sea. Somehow, no number of adventures ever feels like enough.
And somewhere along the way, I realized what people mean by that so-called ‘cheesy love.’ For us, it’s not candlelit clichés — it’s Lukas saying he loved the trip simply because I was happy. It’s him carrying half a pharmacy and convenience store in his backpack just in case I needed something. It’s him snapping thousands of photos until I approved one (while pretending he enjoys it). And it’s him quietly facing his own fears just so he could still be next to me.
So yes, it turns out cheesy love exists… but in our case, it looks more like aftersun cream, dodgy Wi-Fi, fully charged power bank and a very patient travel buddy.

I always love the idea of water activities, but being truly comfortable in the water was another story. Then came our trip to Koh Tao — where it was the perfect stage for Lukas to show off his underwater skills. He floated around like he owned the ocean, while I clung to my snorkel for dear life.
With his constant encouragement (and the occasional gentle dragging), I slowly started to feel safe and even a little confident. Lukas was always right there beside me… unless, of course, a turtle or something shiny swam by. In those moments, he vanished like a kid in a lego shop, only to reappear and insist I come see it too.
Since then, with Lukas as my water buddy, I’ve gone from someone who barely left the shore without a floater in to someone who can jump right in — and actually enjoy it. Basically, he taught me that the ocean isn’t so scary… unless you count his obsession with chasing sea creatures.

Lukáš –
I am not much of a writer – in fact, I haven’t really written (or typed) a longer text since my last attempts at university studies about a decade ago. However, I need to put my weight around this wedding too, so here goes.
I was putting this off for a long time. I was scared of writing this, because I rarely get the motivation or inspiration. But AK pushed me, we made this a milestone after which we’d be able to start inviting guests (that’s you, for the slower among the readers) to our wedding. As the date slowly approached, I just had to get on with the grind.
I found the stories AK wrote really touching. Which didn’t help, all the more pressure on me. AK suggested brainstorming some things I wouldn’t have ever done if it wasn’t for her.
What I wouldn’t have done if I hadn’t met AK:
- Try and learn a new martial art
- Think of going to Nepal
- Learn Vietnamese
- Spend €500 on a two day hike up and down a mountain
- Try to reduce my belly
- Run 30k in mountains
- Kneel in front of an altar with incense and homemade vodka
- Make this list of things I wouldn’t do if…
